THE TOURNAMENT
From June 20-26, 2021, the premiere of the Bad Homburg Open presented by Engel & Völkers took place – a sports event of extraordinary class and the first WTA tennis tournament on grass in Hesse. For one week, exciting tennis matches, sizzling atmosphere and best entertainment were offered. In the end, our tournament ambassador Angelique Kerber crowned herself the first champion in tournament history. After convincing performances in the first two rounds, she put on an impressive show on Friday. The matches scheduled for Thursday were postponed to Friday due to rain, but Kerber fought her way through two three-set matches and advanced to the final. In a high-class encounter against Czech Katerina Siniakova, she claimed her 13th career title. Now we are looking forward to the second edition, which will take place from June 18-25, 2022.
