FRENCH OPEN SEMI-FINALIST, ANDREEVA, TO BE THE FOURTH TOP TEN PLAYER TO COME TO THE KURPARK

She is the shooting star of the WTA Tour – 18 years young, ranked world number 7, 2024 French Open semi-finalist, and 2025 Indian Wells and Dubai winner: Mirra Andreeva. Quick-witted on and off the court. Extremely successful and eloquent. Spectators will surely be able to see this for themselves at the Bad Homburg Open powered by Solarwatt (21 to 28 June 2025).

After the five-time Grand Slam winner, Iga Swiatek, Wimbledon finalist, Jasmine Paolini, and Paula Badosa, Andreeva is already the fourth top ten player confirmed for the boutique tournament at the Kurpark. Olympic medalist, Belinda Bencic, also confirmed her participation weeks ago.

This means that the fifth edition of the Bad Homburg Open powered by Solarwatt will have its strongest line-up to date. For the first time, the tournament will be the most significant and high-profile event of the season in the week leading up to Wimbledon (30 June).

Highlights in Indian Wells and Dubai – Victories against the very best

And fan favourite, Andreeva, currently number three in the ‘Race to the WTA Finals’, also wants to take advantage of the ideal conditions at the Kurpark in order to impress at the grass court classic shortly afterwards.

‘Playing the Bad Homburg Open is the perfect warm-up for Wimbledon. Last year, I really enjoyed the tournament’s special atmosphere, the packed stands and the ambiance created by the tennis-enthusiastic crowd,’ said the teen, who is coached by Conchita Martinez. The Spaniard, formerly ranked world number two, triumphed on the sacred grass at Church Road in 1994. Andreeva and Martinez – a perfect match, as many experts agree.

Andreeva, whose older sister, Erika, also competes on the professional tour, is predicted to have a bright future. She is being carefully built-up and is continuously improving. A year ago, Andreeva, who trains in France, was still outside the Top 40, now she is firmly established in the Top 10 – and the youngest among the top 120 players in the WTA rankings. The 1.75 m tall right-hander has a versatile game, a powerful serve and, despite her young age, already impresses with her remarkable intelligence for the game.

Olympic silver medallist with Kurpark winner, Diana Shnaider

This year, Andreeva won the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai and Indian Wells, defeating the world number one, Aryna Sabalenka (final), and the number two, Swiatek (semi-final), back to back. And afterwards, during the award ceremony, the sharp-witted teen had the crowd laughing. Andreeva: ‘I would also like to take this opportunity to thank myself for fighting until the end and believing in myself!’

Andreeva already has a special connection to Bad Homburg: in 2024, she captured Olympic silver in Paris together with last year’s Kurpark winner, Diana Shnaider.
